Happy 21st Birthday to Lissa

My dear friend, Lissa celebrated her 21st birthday on Monday.

Isn't she adorable?

Sorry, she's not single and available! ;)

I've made a birthday card for her. Yes, by my own hands and creativity.

This design is new to me, I found this idea from a book at a bookstore but I amended and included my idea, end up it's like a total new idea!

Of course, this must be the only one on Earth, there will not be an exactly same copy of it!

Draft and cut. Be careful when you cut as you need some lines for folding part.

And it became like this. Did you notice the folding parts and lines that you shouldn't cut off?
Those are what I am saying.

I pasted golden papers to show the magnificent of 2D letters as it would be just too plain with just a piece of yellow layer.

Make sure it can be closed and folded nicely and precisely.

Just do some decoration on it, and write some dedication.
A 2D birthday card is done and given out today!

When I showed the above masterpiece to my sister, she stared at it and shook her head.
"Why? Is there anything wrong with the card? Or you feel impressed?" I asked, and she was speechless. I guess she's impressed. =D

To be frank, this is not as simple as what you think.
For your information, I always make a sample before I really trying out to make a real piece and give/send out to people.
Actually, making 2D card is an easy job for everyone as long as you understand how is a structure of 2D shaped in making card.

Let me show you the most basic one.

Here you can see, all you need to do is just cut two lines, and fold into a square shape.

This piece of card actually was made in a last minute, therefore it's a bit simple.
*given out on April*

Then, let me show you a similar step with the 21st birthday card.

A 2D bunny birthday card. It combines two features of Presents birthday card and 21st birthday card.

I got this idea from a book too, but of course I did add some of my ideas.
*given out on May*

If you could make the 21st birthday card successfully with just seeing through here (without any basic practice before), I would say, you are as genius as me! (elleh..=p)

If you failed to make one, doesn't matter, perhaps you will receive one on your birthday next year? ^^

* We all need to practice more in whatever we do, then only we will be able to master the skill.
