The first morning of my beautiful November

Yes, it'll be a beautiful November, I suppose?

Well, the first morning of my beautiful November started with a ridiculous event. I was alarmed at 7.30am with a sweet nice dream, and then got myself ready for an assignment meeting at my friend's hostel.

So before I went in to the entrance of the college hostel, I needed to sign in (as a visitor) and drop the security guard my student ID.

There was a Malay security uncle (as Yvonne claimed that, with a big tummy) came towards me and asked, "Cari siapa, Moi?" (Girl who are you looking for?)

"Nak jumpa kawan la pak cik." (I wanna meet my friend) And I was thinking who else I can pay a visit to in a hostel, right?

While I was filling up my details on the guest book, he asked again (I should say, he was trying to inform me) :"You punya kawan belum balik la..." (Your friend has not come back yet) Then I was like "huh..?"
My mind was full of question marks, how the hell he knew who I was looking for?

So I answered, "Tak de la, dia tak pergi mana-mana pun!" (No, she didn't go anywhere) As I was trying to tell him that I was pretty sure that MY FRIEND WAS STAYING IN THE HOSTEL ALL WEEK LONG!

The uncle did not give up, "Ye ke? Dia kan dah balik Ipoh semalam? Ku nampak dia pecking pecking balik Ipoh dah..." (Really? Hasn't she go back to Ipoh already? I saw her taking her stuffs and went back Ipoh yesterday)

Ok, now I was quite sure that he talked to a wrong person. Yvonne is not from Ipoh after all, nor Yvonne's roomate (Hooi Ling is from Kedah)!
I smiled and told him :"Bukan la, kawan saya ade kat Block A." (No, my friend is still staying in A Block) A Block is one of their accommodation blocks.

"Oh.. Ade kat Block A ye..." (Oh, she's in A Block)

I thought the conversation would have ended here, but he continued... (OMG) "You orang Sarawak ke Sabah?" (Are you from Sarawak or Sabah?)

I was shocked by his question again. Although, I laughed and answered, "Bukan la, ku orang Kepong." (I'm from Kepong)
"Oh... Kepong! Orang KL la... Ku ingat you orang Sabah Sarawak, mata besar besar... Ku jugak orang KL!" (Oh, you are from Kepong! So you are from KL! I thought you're from Sabah or Sarawak as your eyes are big... I'm from KL too!)

*speechless* How could he straightaway determined me as a citizen from the states in East Malaysia, just because my eyes are quite big (and I think partially it's because of my tanned skin), isn't this stereotyping?!

And again (=.=) , he said:"So you're a city girl! And I'm a city boy!" Suddenly spoke in (a not-so-fluent) English and excitingly telling me that he's a city 'boy'... He's still a BOY? (@.@)

I don't know why it took me so long for filling up the details and signing in, I bet it's him taking me some time and had a chat with me.

I speed up my writing, thanked him and went away, politely with a smile of course (I was being very patient).
He's so talkative, and cute, isn't he? Somehow he was a little irritating, but this funny incident truly made my day!

Smile la.. Why so serious? =D
